Six reasons clients turn to Andaman Legal
Based in Phuket
Our office is located in Wichit, minutes from the Phuket Immigration Office. Local presence means we understand the procedures and staff at the offices where your matter will be handled.
Immigration focus
We advise exclusively on immigration and visa matters. This is not a side service attached to another practice — it is the whole of what we do, which means our knowledge is current and deep.
Written advice
We document our recommendations in writing. You leave a consultation with a clear note setting out the recommended visa category, the documents required, and the expected timeline.
Fees set in advance
Professional fees are agreed before an engagement begins. We separate our charges from government filing fees and third-party costs, so the total is clear from the start.
Named adviser
You work with a named adviser throughout. There is no call centre and no handover between staff members who are unfamiliar with your circumstances.
Bilingual capacity
Our team can correspond with Thai immigration and government authorities in Thai, and with clients in English. This removes a common source of friction in the application process.
✦ In More Detail
Each benefit, explained
Specialist expertise in Thai immigration law
Thai immigration law is administered through the Immigration Act of 1979 and its subsequent amendments, supplemented by Ministerial regulations and internal Immigration Bureau policies that are updated regularly and not always publicised. Keeping current requires active engagement with the system.
Our advisers work within this framework daily. We have handled visa advisory consultations, family reunification matters, and long-term residence applications across a wide range of client circumstances, which means we have encountered most of the complications and edge cases that arise in practice.
A structured, staged engagement process
Each engagement is divided into defined stages. You know what we are working on at any point, what the next step is, and what information we need from you. This is particularly important for longer matters such as the Residence and Citizenship Advisory Programme, where the process extends over many months.
- Initial assessment and eligibility review
- Document preparation and verification
- Submission and authority correspondence
- Follow-through to issuance or determination
Responsive and considerate client service
Immigration matters involve personal circumstances — family arrangements, employment situations, financial positions — that can be sensitive. We approach each client's situation with care, and we respond to messages promptly so that you are not left uncertain about progress. Our office hours cover Monday to Saturday, and we are accessible by telephone and email throughout.
Transparent, proportionate pricing
Our advisory services are priced to reflect the scope of work involved. A single-session Visa Category Advisory consultation (฿3,500) is priced accessibly, because many people simply need a clear answer to a well-defined question. More complex matters — family reunification or residence applications — are priced at ฿14,200 and ฿38,400 respectively, reflecting the months of sustained work they require.
We quote government fees and disbursements separately, and we discuss them before you commit to any engagement.
A focus on durable outcomes
We are not primarily interested in processing applications quickly. We are interested in helping you arrive at a visa status that is stable, correctly obtained, and appropriate to your long-term plans in Thailand. A visa obtained on the wrong category or with incomplete documentation creates problems at the next renewal or when you wish to progress to a different status. We take care at the outset to avoid those situations.

✦ What Sets Us Apart
Distinguishing features of our practice
✦ Immigration only
We do not try to cover everything
Many law firms and advisory services offer immigration assistance alongside property, business registration, tax, and other services. Our practice covers only immigration and visa law. This means our advisers spend all their time in this area, and their knowledge reflects that depth.
✦ Phuket-specific knowledge
We understand the local immigration office
The Phuket Immigration Office has its own procedures and operational patterns. Knowing what documentation is currently being requested, how queuing works for specific application types, and what timelines are realistic for in-office processing is knowledge that only comes from sustained local practice.
✦ Plain deliverables
You leave with something useful
Every Visa Category Advisory consultation produces a written note — a plain-language document setting out the recommended category, the documents you will need, and what the process is likely to look like. You are not left to reconstruct advice from memory.
✦ Long-term perspective
We think about your next renewal
The choice of visa category at first application affects what is available to you at renewal and at future stages. We advise with the long view in mind, considering not just the immediate application but what it enables — or constrains — in the years ahead.
